My sister sent me a picture- an old photograph as it were- of a beautiful young woman who I had once loved very much and who died, if such things can be said in such ways, much too young and before her time. Instantly a flood of memories and emotions surfaced as if fresh, as if unresolved, as if unbound by body, earth or time.
